|December 6th is Darryl's birthday so, for his 30th birthday, we went to Edinburgh for a long weekend. It's a beautiful city with so much to see both in the city and just outside|
|The castle illuminated at night and taken from the Castle Esplanade||View over Princess Street and beyond. Taken from the Castle Esplanade||The Forth Bridge (railway) taken from underneath the Forth Road Bridge|
|The map of the Castle on display at the castle entrance||At the top of the 'Lang Steps' looking down toward the city and beyond it to the Firth of Forth||Each day the one o'clock gun sounds over the city from the battlements of the castle (shame about the guy in front of me!)|
|The big wheel in the centre of the city each Christmas time. Fantastic views from the top||Darryl on the wheel on it's way up which is why he is still smiling. He doesn't like heights!||And a cup of tea was needed afterwards - this is in our hotel room|
|And here's a panoramic view from the castle|
